Prayer and Who Do We Pray To
Going Directly to God with Our Needs
In 1 Peter 5:7, we read:
“Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.”
The Bible never instructs us to pray to another person or to a saint. Prayer is meant to be directed straight to Almighty God—the One who can do what we cannot do for ourselves and what no one else can do for us.
Why We Pray Directly to God
He is All-Powerful – Only God has the ability to work in ways beyond our human capacity.
He Cares Deeply for You – God invites us to bring Him every burden, big or small.
He Deserves the Glory – When prayers are answered, all credit and honor belong to Him.
How to Pray Anywhere, Anytime
As a believer, you can talk to God wherever you are—whether or not your head is bowed or your eyes are closed. It can be as simple as saying:
“God, help me.”
“Lord, here’s what I’m facing.”
“Father, work powerfully in this situation.”
We are also called to pray for others—our loved ones, those in need, and the people God places in our path.
Keep Your Confidence in Him
When we pray directly to God, we put our trust in the One who is always listening and always able to respond. So keep your faith anchored in Him, and talk to Him about everything.
