Men’s Summer Fellowship
This Thursday we’ll explore what it means “to be a man after God’s own heart”.When God looks at a man, He looks beyond outward appearances and into the heart. A heart after God is not a perfect heart—it is a heart that seeks Him, trusts Him, follows Him, and continually returns to Him. As Proverbs reminds us, everything we do flows from our hearts. The condition of our hearts shapes our words, our decisions, our relationships, and the legacy of our lives.
Before we gather, take a few minutes to read and reflect on these passages from Proverbs:
Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”Proverbs 27:19 (NIV)
“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”As you read, think about these questions:
* When life gets difficult, are you more likely to depend on your own experience—or stop and ask God for wisdom first?
* When you look at your life today, are you spending more energy changing your habits—or allowing God to change your heart?
